Closing Ceremony in SISU University of Summer Camp of Confucius Institute in the Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod in 2015

The Summer Camp in SISU University of Confucius Institute in the Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod officially closed on July 26th. Vice-president of SISU University, Li Xiaochuan, teachers and students of Confucius Institute in the Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod, director of International Students Department in SISU, Zhang Zemin, teachers of the camp and volunteers of Russian department participated in the closing ceremony.

Vice-president, Li Xiaochuan firstly extended his congratulations on behalf of SISU University to the complete closure of the camp and to the student for their improvement in Chinese and understanding of Chongqing, China, Chinese culture and Chinese people. He hopes that after returning to Russia they continue to learn Chinese and actively introduce Chinese culture and language to people around them as an envoy of friendly exchange within two countries. He also said they were welcome students to study and work in SISU one day and wished them a safe trip.

The Russian student representatives, Comrain and Aisijia said that through this camp, they have improved their Chinese, enhanced their understanding of Chongqing and obtained happy and beautiful recollections. They also thanked SISU for providing them with this opportunity, and thanked teachers for their hard work and volunteers for their hospitable service.

At the commencement, vice-president, Li Xiaochuan and director, Zhang Zemin presented the certificate of completion to the students and praised those excellent students.

After the commencement, students gave their performances including singing Chinese songs like “Friend” and “Jasmine”, reciting an ancient poem “On A Quiet Night”, singing Huangmei Opera “Emperor’s Female Son-in-law” and the song “Moscow nights” brought the atmosphere to climax. Those performances have showed the fruits of their learning and won warm applause from the leaders and attendance.

During the summer camp, our university has arranged colorful and structured Chinese class for the students to experience the charming of Chinese. The arts classes with Chinese characteristic such as writing, drawing and weaving Chinese knot are very attractive to them. Colorful and regional cultural activities were also presented for them and led them to visit cultural interests such as Ciqikou ancient town, Three Gorges Museum, Dazu Rock Carvings, Tu Fu’s former residence, Wuhou Temple and Panda Base. Local customs and practices and cultures in different regions have made a deep impression on them.
